Dominica Welcomes You!

Dominica Program

Overview:

Since 1993, the Commonwealth of Dominica has offered a citizenship opportunity to those willing to invest in the Commonwealth.  Often referred to as “The Nature Island of the Caribbean”, the Commonwealth has amazing natural beauty and resources. From waterfalls, hot springs and rain forests to rivers and mountains, not to mention the world-class Caribbean weather, it is hard to imagine a more perfect nickname for Dominica.

In addition to natural beauty, the Commonwealth of Dominica is unique for her government. Commonwealths are rare in the Caribbean, but the history of the island illuminates why this stable and tested government has served it so well. As far back as 1871, Dominica was named a British Windward Island. In 1987, Dominica obtained its independence and adopted a republican form of government. The Prime Minister is the head of state in the Commonwealth.

While the island is home to about 71,000 people, the culture reflects much more depth and breadth than that would suggest. Over the years leading up to is status as a British Windward Island, Dominica was settled by the French, British and Spanish. This mix has made the island a destination for the international community. The proximity of Dominica to the United States and Latin America, and the accessibility of European nations, makes the Commonwealth an excellent choice for those who are looking for a second passport.
